Deciding what to buy or even what to wear from your own closet can be very frustrating, so why don’t we take a look at GQ’s most fashionable man of the year for some inspiration.

 

Kanye West.

 

Kanye has had a turbulent year with the birth of his son Saint and various social media instances, both positive and negative. But with his album, “Waves”, coming out February 11th, Kanye will once again be in the limelight and so will his fashion sense. His style is not eccentric or flashy, but having his own fashion line allows him to test out various new looks and use himself as his canvas.

 

We’ll start with the base of the outfit; the shoes. For the most part Ye rocks his signature shoes that he teamed up with Adidas to make, called Yeezy’s. They come in a few different styles ranging from a basketball type shoe, to a running shoe, and even boots. But because the production number of the shoes are so low they are very hard to come by and very expensive when you do. So here are a few alternatives that may ease your mind.

 

The first comparison is Kanye’s Yeezy 750s to Adidas Tubular Doom Primeknit. Both are similar in size and shape, and are available in similar colors.

 

The next is Kanye’s Yeezy 350s versus Adidas Ultra Boost. Again, both look similar and can be found in similar colors. This style of shoe is becoming more and more popular as just a casual shoe and there are a hundred different types out there, find the pair that you like.

 

Now let’s take a look at pants. As you can see Ye wears a lot of slimmer pants, and varies in color but sticks to mostly black or dark jeans. The most important part is that they compliment the outfit, and fit with what he is wearing.

 

For shirts, he keeps it basic. Basic colors (mostly white and black), very rarely with any sort of graphic. Often he’ll use some sort of outer layer to be the focal point of the overall outfit.

 

The most important part of staying up to date with what is in style is discovering the style that works for you. Finding the right fit and the right size, will make all the difference in how confident you feel in your personal style. Kanye isn’t wearing revolutionary clothes or changing the game in a drastic way, his style is simplistic and basic, but he rocks it with as much confidence as… well… Kanye West.
